The Blue•Print exists so people can keep their story safe first — and decide what it becomes later.
A person's history can become scattered across memories, photographs, institutional files and other people's interpretations. We are developing a place where survivors can progressively assemble their own account, publish the parts they choose and plan for its preservation.
You do not need a finished manuscript to begin. A first chapter, a collection of notes or a story you want to return to can be a starting point.

A place to begin, at your own pace
Begin with one chapter
Write about a memory, event, period of your life or something you want others to understand. You can develop the account gradually as material becomes available.
A story can include work, family, travel, interests, achievement and ordinary life, as well as the experience of harm and its consequences.
Keep future material within reach
The planned drafting tools will let you keep a working title, notes, sources and questions together for a future page or chapter.
That gives you a reminder and somewhere to return to. You can decide its place in the story later, without forcing a date or chapter number before you are ready.
Publish in your own space
The initial pathway is intended to establish a dedicated publication with a first chapter, contents, an About page, copyright information and the supporting pages it needs.
Your publication can grow over time. Public reading is intended to remain free, and ownership of your content remains with you.
Connect the story with its sources
Documents, photographs, archived websites and other records can help place memories in context. Sources can be added as they are found.
Recollections, uncertain dates and documentary findings can be distinguished clearly. A provisional detail can remain open to correction as understanding develops.

Start with up to 15 chapters free, available to anyone who meets our eligibility requirements.
Open Book Survivor package
Rooted in lived experience and solidarity with survivors, our Open Book Survivor package provides a free publishing space to develop your story at your own pace, adding chapters as your account grows.
Public readership is free, and ownership of your content remains with you.

Eligibility, survivor verification and the scope of each package will be explained before registrations open on 1 November 2026. Verification and any decision to publish personal material are separate matters.
You can make an initial enquiry without sending your account of abuse or private evidence by email.
From an enquiry to a first chapter
- Express interest and receive information about the available pathway.
- Complete the registration and eligibility process from 1 November 2026.
- Choose a working title and prepare your first chapter and About information.
- Review the publication and supporting pages before making anything public.
- Continue at your own pace, adding chapters, sources and future-page notes.
This is the intended setup process, being prepared for the registration opening date.
Built around personal sovereignty
Ownership
Helping you develop, host or preserve your work does not make The Blue•Print the owner of it. Author ownership is a foundation of the proposed service.
Publication terms will explain the permissions needed to operate the service and the options for exporting your material.
Consent and access
The design separates public publication from private material and any future access you authorise for another person.
Selective access for an editor, researcher, clinician, lawyer or other professional is a planned capability. It will need clear permissions and controls before it is offered.
Your pace and your account
Participation should leave room to pause, return later and develop an account without pressure to disclose everything at once.
The purpose is to support your agency over your record, with space for uncertainty, new evidence and changes in understanding.
Preservation by choice
Long-term preservation, external archiving and publication after an author's death are directions we are exploring.
Any such arrangement will need explicit choices about what is retained or published, who may act for the author, its duration and any costs. These options are not yet a promise of permanent hosting.
Your story and the Blue•Print Vault
The publication pathway and the Vault serve related purposes: a place to develop an account, and a place to organise material that may support it. Their connection is being developed around ownership, context and deliberate sharing.
Holding a document and choosing to publish it are different decisions. A published chapter should not automatically make every supporting record public.

The first priority is a practical route to a first publication. Further options can develop in response to what authors need and what the platform can reliably support.

These are future directions, not a list of services already included in the free offer. Availability, terms and any charges will be stated before you choose an additional service.

Help shape the pathway
Survivor experience can guide how the platform is designed, tested and improved. We welcome suggestions about accessibility, drafting, publication, ownership and preservation.
You can express interest in a pilot, feature review or advisory discussion. Participation in research or development should be a separate, informed choice from using the publishing service.
A publishing space with a purpose
The Blue•Print is intended for memoir, testimony, personal history, reflection and documentary work. Difficult accounts of abuse, violence and institutional failure belong within that purpose; the subject being difficult does not, by itself, make it unsuitable.
The proposed publishing principles exclude pornography, sexualisation of children, promotion of abuse or harm, targeted harassment, spam, corporate marketing, commercial product catalogues and affiliate or lead-generation sites.
Detailed publishing terms and review procedures will be available before registration opens, so authors can understand the boundaries before choosing to publish.
